A Weekend in London

A couple of weeks ago, Scott and I hopped on the train to London for a long weekend. We were there to see Coldplay (after waiting a good few years for them to go on tour!) and I have to say it was well worth the wait. If you ever get the chance to see them live, do it - trust me!

As usual after a weekend away I wanted to put together a little photo diary. We stayed in the Liverpool Street area due travel plans and ease of getting to Wembley from there, and I'm so glad we did. I've not spent much time in East London before, but I LOVED it. Such a laid back but cool, fun vibe and so many restaurants and bars to try, of all different styles. Scroll past the photos for our weekend in food and drink...

The weekend in food and drink:

Dishoom - one of the best restaurants I've ever been to - hands down. It's serves bombay/Indian tapas and the food is DIVINE. Note, you can't book at the weekend, but there's a bar where you can drink while you wait. Also, I've just read that Dishoom is opening in Edinburgh. BEST DAY EVER!

Duck and Waffle - we've been here before and this time just went for a glass of wine, but you can't beat the amazing views of London from the 40th floor. Well worth a visit!

Borough Market - the hustle and bustle and amazing smells of the market are great. We wandered around and took it all in, then wandered back across London Bridge, with a great view of the Shard and Tower Bridge.

Pizza East - a casual pizza place with great decor. I think the place is an old warehouse or something, and it's all exposed brick and fancy lighting. The pizzas are pretty awesome too.

Green Park - there's something about Green Park that I just love during summer. Maybe it's the fact that it's adjacent to Buckingham Palace - yes tourist central, but I can't help but love to take a peek whenever I'm in London! And the cute deck chairs... it's a great place for a spot of sunbathing and peace in the middle of the crazy city.

The Breakfast Club - I'm sure you'll have heard of this place. We went to the Spitalfields one and it was so good, we went two days in a row. The breakfasts are insane. From pancakes to avo on toast to eggs benedict, the Breakfast Club do it all.

And finally, Coldplay. They were spectacular. We all got given wristbands that lit up in different colours to different songs. We were very near the stage, and turning around to see the entirety of Wembley lit up by a million little lights was pretty special. They really put on a show.

Until next time, London.
