#BeautyChatLive with Clarins

I've been following Vivanna Does Makeup and Lily Pebbles for as long as I can remember, and they are hands down my favourite beauty bloggers - they genuinely LOVE make up and I really admire their success in the blogging world.
So imagine my delight when I heard they were hitting Edinburgh with Clarins for Beauty Chat Live. I raced to the ticket site but was an hour too late - the tickets were sold out! On the day of Anna and Lily visiting Edinburgh, I saw them tweeting about it and thought, what if on the off-chance, tickets have been added? Went to the website and there were 2 tickets sitting there screaming my name... BEST. DAY. EVER.

The event was hosted at the Clarins Urban Oasis pop-up in Edinburgh, which I'd been curious to visit anyway. On arrival, we were greeted with a glass of prosecco (fave) and sat around some beautiful looking canap├ęs. There was only about 15 tickets so the event was really small which made it even better! Anna and Lily chatted away with us before holding a Q&A.

We chatted about everything from wedding make up, to favourite emojis, to babies, to make up favourites. I asked a couple of questions: the first being how the girls balance their personal and professional life with the constance of social media. They admitted that it's pretty difficult to ever fully switch off, and they do miss having Instagram as just a 'hobby' but they do try to make sure they stick to 'office hours' as much as possible. I also asked where to splurge on skincare if you're on a bit of a budget. They both agreed that serums are their number one when it comes to skincare and are worth investing in.

The girls were seriously gorgeous and hilarious, and it was such a relaxed atmosphere. After the Q&A we were invited to have a nosey around the different stations within the Clarins pop-up, and I opted for a 5 minute neck and shoulder massage - heavenly!

I got the opportunity to chat to the girls, and we spoke about favourite YouTubers, Brighton (I was born there), and the fact that Anna thought I look like a brunette Hazel Heyes. We had to Instagram stalk her as I wasn't familiar (check her out here!)

Watching the girls' YouTube videos and reading their blogs makes you feel as though you know them, even though they don't know anything about you - it's quite an odd thing. So meeting them, I wondered what it would be like, but I can honestly say that chatting away to them felt like chatting to old friends. They were so friendly, sweet and genuine, and our shared passion for make up formed an instant connection. It's easy to see why they have become so successful and they throughly deserve it.

I left with a huge smile and a bag full of Clarins goodies, including an Instant Lip Perfector and Eye Make Up Remover - really excited to try them out!

Come back to Edinburgh soon Lily and Anna!
