2015 Beauty Favourites

I love reading beauty favourites blog posts - it's a great source of inspiration, and if a product has made someone's favourites list, it's probably going to be good. I discovered some fab new beauty products in 2015, as well as continuing to use some old favourites and I want to run through them today. I'm not going to break this post into categories, instead I'll just chat about the products which really stood out to me over the past year - mostly makeup with a couple of skincare bits thrown in. You might want to grab a cuppa, cause this could be a long one!

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer

Like a lot of beauty bloggers, I was obsessed with the NARS creamy concealer for a long time, but when UD brought out their Naked Skin Concealer, this quickly replaced the NARS offering. I suffer from dark circles, and I need a concealer which is actually going to cover them up. This one does the job whilst hydrating my under eye area. It's creamy but not too thick and the doe foot applicator distributes a perfect amount of product for both eyes and any redness. Plus it's affordable (currently on sale at Feel Unique for £15.75!) and lasts MONTHS. Check out my full review here.

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua

My favourite. When I decided I wanted to start using foundation in my early twenties, I undertook some serious beauty blog research before purchasing. I knew I wanted something light that looked like skin and something hydrating. I settled on Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua and I've never looked back. I just think this is the best lightweight, glowy foundation out there. It evens out my skin tone and Beige 10 is the perfect winter shade for me. I can't see me switching this up anytime soon!

Soap and Glory Archery Brow Pencil

This was a new discovery for me in 2015. I'm a big fan of the Anatasia Brow Whiz, but it's a tad pricy for a brow pencil and not super easy to get hold of in the UK. So I sought out a more budget friendly alternative, and so my relationship with the Archery pencil began. It is basically the exact same product as the ABH pencil, but half the price and the spoolie on the end adds to the convenience factor. The only issue is the shade range - there are only two. I use Hot Chocolate and find it to be a good match for my brows. You can read my comparison of the ABH and Soap and Glory offerings here

Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop

As Jaclyn Hill might screech, YAAAAAASSSSS. This highlighter is the best I have ever tried. Yes it's a bit 'obvious', but it's super glowy, a gorgeous warm shimmer and so buttery. I've written a full rave review about this product which I recommend you read if you're on the fence about purchasing. I bought this from Sephora but it's now available in the UK from Cult Beauty and Space NK. Thank god because I will be hitting pan soon...

Soap and Glory Solar Powder

Another stand out Soap and Glory product, this bronzer is the best drugstore one I've found. It's perfect for giving a bit of definition to the face, you can stick to the matte dark brown side if you want to create a bit of structure, or add in the subtle highlight for a bit of glow. I can't fault this and it's a total steal.

Tarte Amazonian Clay CC Corrector

As mentioned earlier, my dark circles plague me. Using one concealer isn't really enough for me, and I used to use the Bobbi Brown corrector until I discovered this beaut. It's a salmon coloured corrector which cancels out the purple shades under my eyes. It's not drying and is more than delicate enough for that under eye area. Highly recommend. Now Tarte, please start stocking your products in the UK...

MAC Whirl Lipstick

I was given a MAC gift card for my birthday and one of the products I picked up was this lipstick. I believe this shade is fairly new to lipstick form, previously it was only sold as a liner. I've been hooked since I bought it. Whirl is a 90s browny/dusty/nude kinda shade - it's described as a 'dirty rose' on the Mac website - and I wasn't sure it would suit me, but it's dark enough that it does compliment my pale skin rather than wash me out. It's a matte formula so stays put for hours, yet you can't feel it at all on the lips. Winner!

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

This mascara is the one. It lengthens, gives loads of volume and is just an all round fab mascara. My only gripe is the product dries around the tube lid and covers the rest of my make up with smears of black yuckiness... So I've learnt to store it separately. But it really gives that false lash effect and it's now available from Debenhams. Check out my more in-depth write up here

Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel

I wrote a post about this cleanser way back, and wasn't a huge fan on first impressions. However I have to admit this grew on me, and I love to use it in the morning - I find it so spa-like and silky, it makes my skin feel smooth and plump and I'm definitely onto my second bottle....

The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Oil

Want one product which takes every drop of your makeup without having to go back in with an eye makeup remover? Look no further. I have repurchased this cleanser a ridiculous amount of times, because it's so damn good. I can't use anything else to remove my makeup these days. It takes off everything, doesn't sting my eyes AND it's super affordable. I can't fault it!

Clarins Blue Orchid Oil

Over the winter months my skin gets seriously dry and dehydrated, and there's nothing worse than flaky patches of skin on your cheeks which sticks to your foundation. I'd never tried any hydrating oils, so after some research I decided to try this Clarins offering. It has changed my winter skin, and I no longer suffer from horrendous dry patches. My skin is still dry, but if I apply this before bed I wake up with plump, soft skin. It's a brilliant product and I'm almost finished it... Wah! Repurchase will be necessary.

Phew! That was a long one. I hope this post gave you some inspiration if you're only the lookout for any new amazing beauty products. Would you recommend anything you've tried recently? If you've written a beauty favourites post, let me know as I'd love to read it!
