Rediscovered: MAC Pigment in Tan

I'm an avid Jaclyn Hill fan. I remember the day I stumbled across her YouTube channel - I think I lost a day of my life to her addictive beauty tutorials and chatty favourites videos. If you haven't checked her out yet, I urge you to immediately! Well, after you've finished reading this post of course ;)

So I was watching one of Jaclyn's amazing tutorials, and she used a MAC pigment in the shade Tan. I'd never owned a pigment, and at this stage (back in the day) I barely even owned a MAC product. But when I saw Jaclyn swatch the pigment and apply it, I had to have it. (Be warned, she will convince you that you NEED every product she talks about). A few years down the line, I've rediscovered this amazing shade and I wanted to share it with you guys.

MAC Tan is a shimmery (not glittery) copper/rose gold shade which is super flattering against green and blue eyes. It really pops, and to achieve an even more intense look, I spray my MAC 217 with Fix Plus (or water) and then dab it in the pigment before applying. This gives the eye shadow that foiled effect which is so gorgeous! The staying power of this is incredible, it doesn't budge all day, and the shimmer holds up without dulling. A+!

I love this as a wash of colour on the lids, especially in summer with a tan.

Have you tried any of the MAC pigments?

  1. Ohmygoodness! You have SOLD this to me. I need it all over my face RIGHT NOW! What a gorgeous shade. Confession: I've never owned any of the MAC pigments. They just seem so messy and I could never be bothered with the hassle but I need this in my life. xxx

    1. Kirsty, YOU NEED IT! Haha. But seriously - it's divine. It's the only one I own but I want more (always). It's really not that messy to work with especially if the brush is slightly damp!! Go for it!
