Top 5 Lipsticks: The Brights

So last week I took you through my favourite nude lipsticks, and this week and wanna go through my top brights. I love a bright lip, although I'm always baffled by those people who wear the look daily to the office - ain't nobody got time for that. But for me, brights are perfect for a night out/holiday etc. The lipsticks I've picked out are summer appropriate - I love a dark lip the most, but they're not really in keeping with the current season so we'll save those for a later date! So without further ado...

L-R: Topshop Clueless, MAC Girl About Town, Rimmel Apocoliptic, Charlotte Tilbury Lost Cherry, Revlon Audacious

Topshop Clueless: I hate to include a product that has been discontinued... but it was too good not to. I have had this lipstick for a few years - it's like a neon fushia pink crayon - it's stunning! It's pretty matte so I always make sure I scrub and balm up my lips beforehand!

Charlotte Tilbury Lost Cherry: The only piece of CT that I own. Which is sad times, cause duh, the Charlotte Tilbury make-up range is insane. I want all of it... especially the bronzer/highlighter compact. But anyhoo, Lost Cherry is a strong corally-red which looks especially good with a tan!

Rimmel Apocoliptic: I love liquid lipsticks, and the apocalips range is great! They go on glossy and once dried down, settle into a pretty stain with no awkward fading. This shade is my favourite, it's such a vibrant pink - although it looks quite red in the photo above, I promise it isn't. Worth a swatch at Boots!

MAC Girl About Town: This was the first bright pink lipstick I bought. (Are you sensing a theme with the pinks here?!) I remember really wanting Show Orchid at the time but couldn't find it, so went for this. And boy am I glad I did! This fushia is so flattering and I imagine it'd look great on most skin tones. And it lasts all day and all night. It's actually pretty difficult to remove which I don't mind for that kind of lasting power!

Revlon Audacious matte lip balm: This is the perfect summer holiday shade. It's super duper bright, matte but feels creamy and just really stands out against my skin tone. Similarly to the Topshop number, it has a neon hint to it which I love. I saw this on Emma Stone when this range was first released and was sold. Love it!

What's your favourite bright lip for summer? Let me know in the comments below!

  2. Uhhh.. That Charlotte Tilbury lipstick gives me the tingles! I love a good coral/red shade. I don't own many bright shades of lipstick to be honest - I stick to reds and nudes mostly. The two bright pinky/purples look amazing but I doubt I'd pull 'em off. *Sigh* xxx

    1. Ugh it's gorg! I really want another Tilbury product or two, it's just so pricey! I bet you could pull pinks off! I love bright lips, but not as keen on nudes. I just hate the upkeep on brights! Too stressful haha!
