My first thanksgiving and North Carolina

Today, I want to talk about my favourite place, North Carolina.

When I was 20 years old, I had the opportunity to study abroad in America. I was in my third year of uni at Stirling University in Scotland, and after attending an information session with presentations from students of each exchange university, I quickly made my choice. The University of North Carolina Wilmington was where I chose, after finding out that it was by the beach, the film studies course was highly regarded and that One Tree Hill was filmed there. (OMG!) My decision turned out to be the best one I'd ever made, and I had the time of my life out there, making wonderful friends, experiencing a new culture and travelling to my heart's content. Fast forward almost four years and I am still in touch with many of the great friends I made. I have since gone back to North Carolina every summer. This year I decided to visit for Thanksgiving instead. It was my first ever Thanksgiving, and it was full of food, food and more food! Pumpkin pie, pecan pie, turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole... the list is endless! I had such an incredible and relaxing visit, sharing my first Thanksgiving with Emma and her family and friends. Emma and I also spent a day in Wilmington, visiting our favourite places. I wanted to put together a photo diary of my trip, and here it is.

Ps. Check out the beach pics at the bottom of the page... Heaven!
