First stop, Singapore

For the last few years, it's been on my bucket list to visit Australia and New Zealand. In 2017, Scott and I finally managed to make the dream a reality, booking a month long trip over Christmas. Taking into account that this could be a once in a lifetime trip, we decided to go for it and do everything we wanted. We had a budget, but we also didn't want not do something we really wanted because of money. The plan was Singapore > Sydney > the Whitsunday Islands > Brisbane > South Island, NZ (road trip!) The trip was even more perfect than I could have ever wished for, and the happiness it brings me now when I think about it or look at the photos is priceless. Over the next few posts, I'm going to share the highlights from each place we visited, and some of the best photos I took! Hopefully it might inspire your next travel plans. And sorry in advance, it could be wordy...

20 Years in Scotland

Taken on my run this morning at Inverleith Park, Edinburgh

Today marks 20 years since my family packed up our bags, left our Surrey home in the south east of England and moved 500 miles north, to a house surrounded by nothing but fields near the small village of Laurencekirk in the north east of Scotland.

A Moment of Inspiration

Taken in another moment of inspiration, during an early morning run at the top of Primrose Hill last month.

Writing. It's a big love of mine, and something which I do every day as part of my job at a creative agency in Edinburgh. But it's something I've neglected in my personal time over the last year or so.

American Beauty Haul

This post has been sitting in my drafts for a while, but better late than never!

No trip to the States would be complete without (multiple) visits to Sephora, right? Although I have heard through the grapevine that the beauty haven is coming soon to London, but we shall see...

Strangely enough, whilst in New York, I didn't feel particularly inclined to shop and I do have slight regrets about that now, but at the time I just wanted to see the city and explore during my limited time there. But obviously Sephora had to happen. And I have a general rule - I don't buy things that are available at home. The exchange rate is terrible at the moment anyway, so it's not like I'd be getting a better deal stocking up on my Urban Decay Naked Concealer!

Reflecting on 2016

They say that New Year is a good time to reflect on the year that has passed and get refreshed, motivated and energised for the year ahead. I'm not one for making grand resolutions that I've not got a hope in hell of keeping, but I do like to set myself (realistic) goals and take a moment to think back on what the past 12 months have brought me.

Our Epic USA East Coast Adventure

After a hiatus from blogging, I'm back. And I wanted to share with you some highlights from my recent trip to the States - a trip that started off as a friend's wedding in Virginia and turned into a bit of an adventure! It was an absolute dream holiday and we loved every second. (Ok maybe not the part where we shared a Greyhound bus with freshly released in-mates... let's just say it at least makes a great story)

A Weekend in London

A couple of weeks ago, Scott and I hopped on the train to London for a long weekend. We were there to see Coldplay (after waiting a good few years for them to go on tour!) and I have to say it was well worth the wait. If you ever get the chance to see them live, do it - trust me!

As usual after a weekend away I wanted to put together a little photo diary. We stayed in the Liverpool Street area due travel plans and ease of getting to Wembley from there, and I'm so glad we did. I've not spent much time in East London before, but I LOVED it. Such a laid back but cool, fun vibe and so many restaurants and bars to try, of all different styles. Scroll past the photos for our weekend in food and drink...
