Loving Lately - Beauty Edition

I've been trying hard not to purchase too many new beauty bits recently, as I just have so much make up which doesn't get out enough. So with that said, I've recently rediscovered some old favourites and I forgot how much I love them!

New Beauty Buys

Happy Sunday! I picked up a couple of new beauty bits in the last few weeks so thought I'd review them on the blog!

A Weekend In Copenhagen

I've been a bad, bad blogger. Things have been so busy lately, every time I think 'I must blog', it quickly gets pushed to the side with something else being a bigger priority. But I want to get back into the swing of things, and I thought I'd start with a photo diary from a recent trip to Copenhagen.

#BeautyChatLive with Clarins

I've been following Vivanna Does Makeup and Lily Pebbles for as long as I can remember, and they are hands down my favourite beauty bloggers - they genuinely LOVE make up and I really admire their success in the blogging world.

MAC Lipsticks of the Moment

I'm having a bit of a thing with MAC lipsticks right now. The variety of shades, textures and forulas mean there is always a new one to try, and I can't help getting sucked in.

There are five lipsticks from MAC which I'm particularly enjoying at the moment, so let me take you through them.

Ultimate Face & Body Skincare Saviours

I'm back! I have been seriously MIA from this blog lately, what with all the moving, new job and trying to settle into a new city, it's been a pretty hectic time to say the least! However, I finally feel like I'm starting to get a handle on things and I'm feeling a bit more settled. I am so happy in our flat, and I just LOVE living in Edinburgh. There is so much to do here, I feel like my to-do list is endless! Yesterday we had family over for a flatwarming (3 months in...yup, we've been busy!) We wanted to wait until we had gotten the flat straightened out and I'm so glad we waited. It was a fab day, and brilliant to get our families together.

In other news, we also had a mini getaway to Dunblane Hydro this week with our friends which was just delightful. Since Scott and I were saving every single penny to buy a flat last year, we didn't really get away very much, so it's nice that this year we can enjoy ourselves a bit. The Hydro was so much fun and super relaxing, I think I could have sat in the steam room and sauna all weekend!

Anyone back onto skincare. I've not been too happy with my skin over the past few months, mainly because it feels quite dry and uneven, I'm not sure if it's the weather, my diet, stress or the fact that I'm just getting older, but I am finding it harder to take care of. But I've found these products to be a great addition to my routine in recent weeks and wanted to share them with you!

First up is the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask which was kindly donated to me by my fellow beauty-loving friend Gillian. My skin LOVES this mask. I massage a drop of it into my skin before bed and always wake up with plump, fresh looking skin. It's magical. The only thing is I'm scared to use it too often as it is a mask, so I try to stick to a couple of times per week.

Another skincare favourite at the moment is the Clarins HyrdaQuench Cream Mask. I find this so interesting - as it's a white mask it kind of sits on the skin and you can tissue off the excess (although I usually don't). But it's super interesting to see that some parts of my face eat this stuff within seconds and in other places it hangs around for ages - you can really see where the dry patches are.

I'm quite good when it comes to exfoliating and moisturising my body and try to do it at least a few times a week. My favourite products at the moment for this job are the Soap and Glory Breakfast Scrub, and The Body Shop Spa of the World Japanese Camellia Cream.

The Breakfast Scrub is an old favourite - it smells good enough to eat and really gets rid of any dry or rough skin patches without being too harsh.

The Body Shop Camellia Cream is seriously dreamy stuff. It's new to me, but I don't ever want to get to the end of the tub. It is expensive at £23 but the texture and scent are heavenly. I would totally recommend trying this out if you haven't already. I want to try one of the scrubs from the Spa of the World range next. I highly rate The Body Shop, and this moisturiser doesn't disappoint - well worth the price tag.

Which skincare items have you been loving lately? Let me know in the comments!

Review: Urban Decay Naked Palette

I am about 10 years late to this party. The cult favourite Urban Decay Naked Palette has been on my wish list for a looong time. A fellow beauty loving babe knew this, and gave it to me before Christmas as part of my work leaving gift. (Thanks Gillian!)
